Watch: Lions welcome Van der Merwe to the pride

Edwill van der Merwe has completed his move from Cape Town to Johannesburg to link up with the Lions following the conclusion of his contract with the Stormers.

Van der Merwe played for the Stormers in the first four rounds of the Vodacom United Rugby Championship, as he was only set to join the Lions when his contract with WP Rugby expired.

The in-form 25-year-old is now set to turn out in the red jersey in the Lions’ home games against Cardiff and Munster when the URC resumes on the weekend of 26 November.
