Pretoria-born fullback Johan Wasserman steps in as translator during a post-match interview after France beat the SA U18 A side in Paarl on Friday.
He is the son of former Vodacom Bulls, Montpellier and Nevers loose forward Johan Wasserman.
“I have dual nationality and I have always lived between these two cultures. At home, we speak Afrikaans. In high school, as in rugby, I speak French,” the teenager said in an article for French D2 side USON Nevers before the start of the U18 International Series at Paarl Gymnasium.
“I have always made the effort to keep these South African roots while living in France.”
