Vote for your Currie Cup MVP!

With the 2021 Currie Cup coming to the business end and the Bulls, Sharks, Griquas and Western Province in the playoffs, it’s time to vote for this season’s most valuable player.

The Bulls and Sharks will host the Currie Cup semi-finals after finishing first and second, respectively. Defending champions the Bulls will take on fourth-placed Western Province at Loftus Versfeld on Friday, while last season’s finalists the Sharks welcome Griquas to Kings Park on Saturday.

As usual, the tournament has delivered some outstanding performances throughout the regular 12-round season. Johan Goosen has starred at flyhalf in his first season with the Bulls after joining from Montpellier, scoring 76 points, while Elrigh Louw has continued to show why he is among the highly rated young loose forwards in the country.

The Sharks have been astutely led by 22-year-old captain Phepsi Buthelezi, but have also seen wing Thaakir Abrahams shooting the lights out with some sensational performances in what is effectively his first full season with the senior team.

Also among the nominees are Griquas duo Gideon van der Merwe (flank) and Eduan Keyter (wing), Western Province’s Evan Roos (No 8), Cheetahs captain Ruan Pienaar, Pumas hooker Simon Westraadt –who tops the try-scoring list with eight to his name – and Lions wing Rabz Maxwane.

This poll has ended (since 3 years).
