The Blitzboks beat Chile 33-0 in the opening match of their Vancouver Sevens campaign.
South Africa won't be completely satisfied with their performance. While they dominated the collisions and enjoyed lengthy periods of possession, they were less than clinical over the course of the game.
Philip Snyman and Dylan Sage touched down as the Blitzboks went to the break with a 14-0 lead. Chile battled to get their hands on the ball and missed tackles, and yet managed to keep the scoring down.
After a scrappy start to the second half, the Blitzboks crossed the line. Sage handed off a defender and then raced more than 50m to score.
Siviwe Soyizwapi and Chris Dry scored late in the game to complete a comfortable win for South Africa.
