Billy Twelvetrees will start at 12 in one of three changes to England's team to face the Wallabies at Twickenham on Saturday.
The Gloucester centre started every game of the Six Nations earlier this year, but has been confined to a bit-part role during the November Tests. He will take Owen Farrell's place in the midfield, with the latter dropping to the bench as George Ford continues in the flyhalf berth.
In other changes, Dylan Hartley returns at hooker while Tom Wood replaces James Haskell on the side of the scrum. England coach Stuart Lancaster will be looking to ease the pressure with a win over southern hemisphere opposition after failures against the All Blacks and the Springboks earlier this month.
'It's good to be able to give Billy his first start of the series,' said Lancaster. 'He took on board the feedback we gave him when he first came into the camp and he has worked hard both with us and at Gloucester and deserves his chance.'
'Owen is a key part of our squad and will offer a huge amount from the bench. Tom and Dylan were disappointed not to be in the XV against Samoa.
'They are desperate to go out and perform on Saturday to help us finish the series on a high.'
