Springboks Handré Pollard, Adriaan Strauss, Jesse Kriel, Trevor Nyakane and Jan Serfontein have extended their contracts with the Vodacom Blue Bulls.
Pollard, Strauss and Kriel have all renewed their contracts until the end of October 2019, while Nyakane and Serfontein have committed until 2018 and 2017 respectively.
‘These players are all expected to be among the best in the world in their positions for a number of years still and should play many Test matches for the Springboks while in Bulls colours,’ said high-performance manager Xander Janse van Rensburg. ‘This is a massive endorsement from them towards our mission statement and drive to be one of the leading rugby teams in the world. Not only the Bulls, but South African rugby will benefit in having them based in Pretoria.’
Janse van Rensburg also confirmed that current Currie Cup squad members André Warner, Dries Swanepoel, Roelof Smit and Irne Herbst had signed on for two more seasons.
Flank Freddy Ngoza, prop Entienne Swanepoel, utility back Lihleli Xoli and lock Le Roux Roets are four new players recruited from outside the union.
