How many of last year’s 1st XV players are still in the squad?
Nine.
What has been your main focus in preparing for this season?
We have worked hard on the fitness and conditioning aspects of the game to prepare our boys for the season.
Who are the key players in your squad?
Our captain Nelius van Heerden, Hannes Viljoen, Luigy van Jaarsveld and NJ Oosthuizen will need to step up this year as they are the more experienced guys in the squad.
Who will be your toughest opposition this year?
Every opposition will be tough to play against, we just have to be prepared for every game.
What lessons have you learned from last season?
I am new in this position of Marlow 1st XV coach so I will be learning a lot this year.
What are your goals for the 2014 season?
We just want to approach each game on its merit and hopefully be ranked inside the top 20 schools in the country at the end of the season.
