The University of Fort Hare Blues beat CPUT in a dramatic Varsity Shield final in Alice on Thursday night to claim the title and end the season unbeaten.
The Varsity Shield kicks off on Friday, 4 March and fans are in for a treat as most matches will be broadcast live. Seven teams will race for a place in the final on 22 April.
The Varsity Cup will be staged at universities around the country for the first time since 2020 when the 15th instalment of South Africa’s intervarsity tournament kicks off on 14 February.
It has been confirmed that there will be no promotion or relegation after the conclusion the 2021 Varsity Cup tournament.
