Tim Swiel will start at flyhalf for the Sharks against the Cheetahs at Kings Park on Saturday.
With Fred Zeilinga getting injured against the Lions last weekend, Sharks director of rugby Jake White could have moved Frans Steyn to 10. But he has instead opted to give Swiel, who played most of the game against the Bulls at Loftus after Pat Lambie left the field early on, another chance.
Meanwhile, former Springbok wing Tonderai Chavhanga will make his Sharks Super Rugby debut on Saturday. The four-cap Bok replaces Odwa Ndungane after the veteran wing sustained a shoulder injury in the win over the Lions. Chavhanga has been getting game time for the Sharks XV in the Vodacom Cup following his return from injury.
In a rotational switch, Keegan Daniel will start at No 8 as Ryan Kankowski is rested, having started all seven of the previous matches this season.
The final change comes on the bench where Heimar Williams replaces Paul Jordaan.
