Strong Stormers to face Jaguares

Pieter-Steph du Toit will start at No 5 lock when the Stormers take on the Jaguares at Newlands on Saturday.

Coach Robbie Fleck has named a 31-man squad for the pre-season friendly, with Du Toit lining up alongside Jean Kleyn in the second row. Vincent Koch, Bongi Mbonambi and Oli Kebble complete the tight five.

Nizaam Carr will captain the side from No 8, while Sikhumbuzo Notshe and Rynhardt Elstadt will pack down at flank.

The backline sees Jano Vermaak and Rob du Preez combining in the 9-10 channel, while Huw Jones and Johnny Kotze are in the midfield. Dillyn Leyds, Kobus van Wyk and Leolin Zas will make up the back three.

'We are just over two weeks off from that opening game against the Bulls, and we want to use this chance to ensure we are able to make a strong start to the season,' Fleck said. 'This Jaguares side is a powerful outfit who will be keen to show that they will be a force to be reckoned with this season, so they will be a great test to see where we are at two weeks from the start of the season.'
