Strong starts for WP, Bulls U13

There were wins for Western Province, the Blue Bulls, Boland, Limpopo, Griffons, SWD, Free State, Eastern Province and the Golden Lions at the U13 Craven Week in Kimberley on Monday.

WP scored eight tries, including a hat-trick by left wing Clemond Nel, to thrash the Leopards 44-5, while the Blue Bulls blanked the Sharks 34-0.

Boland ran in six tries to cruise past the Pumas 37-10 after the teams had been locked at 5-5 at the break, the Griffons scored five tries to Border CD’s two second-half tries in their 31-7 victory, SWD registered a 24-0 win against Namibia thanks to four tries, and the Golden Lions beat Border 29-7 by scoring five tries.

WRAP: U16 Grant Khomo Week

Limpopo outscored Zimbabwe by four tries to two in their 24-14 victory, Free State bounced back from a two-point deficit against the Valke to claim a hard-fought 24-21 victory, and a penalty goal proved decisive in Eastern Province’s 18-17 win against Griquas, with both sides scoring three tries.
