Joseph Dweba is poised for a return to South Africa as the Springbok hooker has been linked with a move to the Stormers.
The 26-year-old is reportedly close to completing a deal to join the Stormers from 1 July, with talks having begun in December and only the terms of the contract need to be finalised.
Hooker has emerged as a problem position for the Stormers, with Bongi Mbonambi having joined the Sharks in the off-season and a spate of injuries seeing Scarra Ntubeni join Andre-Hugo Venter and Chad Solomon on the sidelines.
The Capetonians successfully negotiated a short-term loan for Free State Cheetahs and former Maties star Wilmar Arnoldi.
Dweba, who played only one Test for the Boks against Argentina in 2021, made his mark with the Cheetahs before heading to Bordeaux Begles in France. He also featured for the SA A team against the British & Irish Lions in Cape Town.

WP have reportedly also already signed contracts with Griquas scrumhalf Stefan Ungerer, Cheetahs fullback Clayton Blommetjies and Pumas loose forward Willie Engelbrecht.
Meanwhile, loose forward Junior Pokomela has signed a three-year deal that will see him play for the Stormers until at least 2024.
