The Stormers lineout recovered from a poor start to make several influential plays in the second half, according to SARugbymag.co.za's Opta-powered stats.

The Cheetahs competed well in the first half. While the Stormers had eight lineouts during this period, they battled to launch an attack from this set piece. They lost two lineouts and failed to use the maul to any telling effect.

The Stormers were more accurate in this area during the second stanza. They won all of their lineouts during this period. They managed to pressure the Cheetahs into losing four.

The Stormers’ defence against the Cheetahs maul in the dying stages was especially significant. The visitors will regret the 12 turnovers they conceded on attack.

While the Stormers had less possession than the Cheetahs, they won the territorial battle. Overall, the Stormers made 33 kicks in play.
