Kyle Steyn will miss Glasgow Warriors’ tussle with the Vodacom Bulls on Friday due to injury, and faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
The SA-born Scotland international limped off in the first half of Glasgow’s defeat to the Stormers in Cape Town on Friday.
Coach Danny Wilson has confirmed the 28-year-old wing has been ruled out for the Vodacom United Rugby Championship clash at Loftus Versfeld, with Ratu Tagive called up as cover.
“Kyle Steyn is definitely out. He had basically an achilles injury that looks like a medium-term injury, hopefully not long term,” Wilson told media on Monday.
“Kyle had a scan and has an appointment with a specialist to determine the length of time … whether we see Kyle again this season we have to wait and see, could be doubtful.
“It’s unlucky for Kyle, he was looking forward to playing in South Africa, and he’s been in good form.”
