Sharks loose forward Dylan Richardson is reportedly set to be called up to Scotland’s squad for the November internationals and could potentially face the Springboks.
According to Independent Online, Richardson’s Scottish ancestry makes him eligible for selection for the national team, even though he has spent the entirety of his professional career at the Sharks.
The 22-year-old, who can also play at hooker, has excelled at openside flank for the Sharks and his performances have caught the eye of Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend.
Townsend has a long-standing relationship with the Sharks, as he himself played for the team in 2004. This relationship will reportedly allow Richardson to continue playing at Kings Park, while having a Test career with Scotland.
Richardson has not appeared on the Springbok radar to date and has reacted positively to Scotland’s interest in him.
Scotland will host the Springboks at Murrayfield on Saturday, 13 November.
