Ox Nche will play no further part of the Sharks’ campaign in 2022 after the loosehead prop was suspended for three weeks.
Nche was cited for foul play after he was red-carded for a head-on-head collision with hooker Jack Walker during the Durbanites’ victory over Harlequins in the Champions Cup at Kings Park.
He has been banned under Law 9.13 stating a player must not tackle an opponent dangerously, following an independent disciplinary hearing on Tuesday.
The 27-year-old will miss the Sharks’ trip to France to face Bordeaux on Friday night, as well as derbies against the Lions (23 December) and Vodacom Bulls (31 December) in the Vodacom United Rugby Championship.
Fellow Springbok Oupa Mohoje will also be appearing before a disciplinary committee after the EPCR received a citing complaint against the loose forward for foul play in a Challenge Cup win for the Cheetahs against Pau.
