The Sharks have signed Springbok centre Francois Venter from troubled Premiership club Worcester Warriors.
Venter joined Worcester from the Cheetahs in 2018.
The 31-year-old, who last played for the Springboks in December 2017, is free to leave Worcester after the club was placed into administration and suspended from all competitions by the Rugby Football Union.

According to Rapport newspaper, the Sharks were interested in Wasps centre Burger Odendaal, whose English club is also in danger of financial ruin, but the former Lions captain is now linked to three other Premiership sides as well as a Japanese team.
The article also suggests that Odendaal’s Wasps teammate, Bok tighthead prop Vincent Koch, could be heading to Stade Francais in France.
