Centre Marius Louw will captain the team and partners Werner Kok in the midfield.
The inclusion of lock Reniel Hugo and prop Lourens Adriaanse give much-needed experience to an otherwise relatively young tight five.
The Sharks also confirmed that new recruit Eduan Keyter suffered a long-term injury in their Currie Cup opener against Griquas.
