Ten UK-based writers have selected their preferred British & Irish lineups for the first Test against the Springboks in July next year.

With the highly anticipated British & Irish Lions tour of South Africa fast approaching, 10 of the Telegraph‘s rugby writers – Gavin Mairs, Mick Cleary, Charlie Morgan, Ben Coles, Kate Rowan, Jake Goodwill, Giles Mole, Daniel Schofield, Tom Cary and Charles Richardson – picked their starting XVs  for the first Test in Johannesburg, working under the assumption that every player is fit and available for selection.
