Schools wrap: Boishaai do a number on Paul Roos

Paarl Boys’ High overcame a red card to claim a 20-point win against Paul Roos while Grey College thumped Affies on a thrilling Saturday of schools rugby.

Boishaai held out against a second-half comeback from hosts Paul Roos to claim a 35-15 victory in a Premier Interschools clash in Stellenbosch.

Shah Jehaan de Jongh scored a late try to seal victory for the visitors, who lost Divan Fuller to a red card in the first half.

Meanwhile, Grey College were too good for Affies, the boys from Bloemfontein bagging a 43-24 win in Pretoria.

Cape rivals Wynberg edged Bishops 20-14, Paarl Gimnasium got the better of old foes Boland Landbou 26-21, while Stellenberg romped to an 88-7 demolition of Tygerberg in Bellville.

KES made light work of St. John’s College 33-7, Jeppe High edged Northword 9-8 and St. Andrews were on the wrong side of a 17-3 result against St. Davids.

Hilton College cruised to a 40-0 win against Westville, as did Brandwag in a 53-15 triumph over Humansdorp, with Grey High getting the better of Graeme College 30-3.

Also, Selborne College dug in to claim bragging rights after a 10-0 tussle in the mud with Dale College, while Pretoria Boys’ High pipped St. Albans 24-22.
