There are several tantalising Cape rugby clashes on Saturday as schools action resumes across the country, including the Premier Interschools match between Maritzburg College and Affies in Pietermaritzburg.

In the Winelands, Boland Landbou host Rondebosch Boys’ High in Paarl, with Paul Roos to welcome Wynberg in Stellenbosch, while Bishops hit the N1 to take on Paarl Gimnasium.

Affies travel to the KZN capital for their derby with hosts Maritzburg in what will be their 26th meeting. Affies have dominated the rivalry with 22 wins.

ICYMI – SA Schools too strong for A-team rivals

Both schools were well represented at the recent U18 Craven Week in Rondebosch over the July holidays, with Affies offering up seven players to the Blue Bulls team while Maritzburg boasted five members in the Sharks team.

Maritzburg centre Litelihle Bester and Affies flyhalf Stephan Heymans were both selected for the SA Schools team.

In other big games this weekend, Pretoria Boys’ High battle KES and Parktown tackle Jeppe.
