The ongoing Elton Jantjies saga looks set to be overshadowed by an explosive report claiming drug abuse in the Springbok camp, amid SA Rugby’s attempts to keep the matter under wraps.
SARugbymag.co.za understands that Sunday newspaper Rapport is ready to publish a story that alleges several Springboks have tested positive for cocaine.
Meanwhile, sources have confirmed that SA Rugby is seeking a legal interdict to stop the story which it believes has no foundation.
The latest drama comes in the wake of the Elton Jantjies saga, where the flyhalf was sent home from the team’s camp in Buenos Aires after Rapport reported accusations of, among other things, him having an affair with team dietician Zeenat Simjee.

According to the Afrikaans weekly newspaper, the 46-Test Bok pivot allegedly spent a romantic and tumultuous night with Simjee at a guesthouse in the week leading up to the Test against the All Blacks in Nelspruit in August.
Both Jantjies and Simjee have since released separate statements denying the affair, but Jantjies did accept that he has disgraced the Springbok jersey.

This has all transpired during the week the world champions prepared for a must-win Rugby Championship clash with hosts Argentina in Buenos Aires on Saturday night.
The Springboks and Argentina are level on nine points each on the Rugby Championship log, but trail New Zealand by five points after the All Blacks snatched a last-minute victory over Australia in Melbourne on Thursday.
If the Springboks fail to win in Buenos Aires, it will almost certainly spell the end of their title challenge, as New Zealand are favourites to beat the Wallabies in the reverse Bledisloe Cup Test in Auckland next weekend.
