Scott ‘Razor’ Robertson says he’s fully focused on what’s expected to be his last season as Crusaders coach after narrowly missing out on the All Blacks job in August.
After naming his squad for the 2023 Super Rugby Pacific tournament on Wednesday, Robertson admitted his off-season had been “tricky”.
Robertson was set to replace the under-fire Ian Foster as All Blacks head coach only for victory over the Springboks at Ellis Park to save the latter.

Ironically, Foster had already replaced his sacked forwards coach John Plumtree with Robertson’s right-hand man at the Crusaders, Jason Ryan.
“Look, from a personal point of view, how do I put it? It’s been a pretty reflective time,” Robertson said. “There’s a lot going on, a lot of stuff out of my control and stuff I can’t influence. I have those conversations with players. Now, I’ve got to have a conversation with myself.”
Robertson refused to comment when asked if he was happy with how the All Blacks episode was handled.
“My focus now turns to the Crusaders, which it always has been, but probably more so going into my last year,” he said.
“Just get my energy right, get the focus I’ve had the other six years. Get better myself, so I can help the team be better.”
