The return of Jacques-Louis Potgieter has brought a sense of composure to the Bulls backline ahead of the Vodacom Super Rugby tournament.
Potgieter, who has played with the Bulls, Cheetahs and Sharks at Super Rugby level, was playing in France for Top 14 club Bayonne in 2012-13 and second division team Dax for the 2013-14 season.
‘Jacques-Louis has some very valuable assets that he brings to the squad. He is vastly experienced, having played for three franchises and experienced the Top 14 in France. He is a reliable and accurate kicker, can play in most positions in the backline and brings some stability into our youthful backline,’ Bulls coach Frans Ludeke said on the team’s website. ‘Importantly also, he has been part of the Bulls in the past. He knows the culture, work ethic and drive to improve, so will slot in without any hassles.’
The Bulls will continue their pre-season preparation with a warm-up match against the Stormers in Polokwane on Saturday. Ludeke has named strong side to take on the Cape franchise.
