Vodacom Bulls and Springbok flyhalf Handré Pollard is on the cover of SA Rugby magazine’s new issue, on sale this week!

A 21-year-old Pollard went into the 2015 World Cup having played just 13 Tests for the Springboks. By the time the 25-year-old arrives in Japan for the 2019 edition, he should have more than 40.

Pollard has grown as a player and a person since the last global showpiece, having gained vital experience at Super Rugby and Test levels. In this issue of SA Rugby magazine, he talks about his progress over the past four years and how getting a consistent run – for the Bulls and the Boks – helped him regain his confidence after an 18-month injury layoff. We also chat to former Bok captain Jean de Villiers and coach Heyneke Meyer, who both believe Pollard has developed into a flyhalf who can help his country win a World Cup.

Also in the new issue:

– Aphelele Fassi has made a considerable impression at the start of his Sharks career

– Wandisile Simelane is worth shouting about

– John Dobson on the challenge of coaching the Stormers from next year, transformation, and dealing with a changing South African rugby landscape
