The results are in, and SARugbymag.co.za readers have picked a new-look loose trio of young guns for the Springboks’ first outing of 2022.
The world champions are set to host Wales in a three-Test series in July, and Bok coach Jacques Nienaber will be looking for in-form players to tackle the Welsh.
The Boks lost a nail-biter at Twickenham in their last outing with the back-row combination of Siya Kolisi, Kwagga Smith and Duane Vermeulen.
And, while it was close, more than half of the thousands who voted dropped the tried-and-trusted campaigners in favour of Marcell Coetzee, Elrigh Louw and Evan Roos to pack down against the Dragons.
Vodacom Bulls captain Coetzee and teammate Louw, along with the Stormers’ Roos, are proving tough to ignore for national selection, with standout performances week in and week out in the Vodacom United Rugby Championship.
