According to Rapport, several clubs in Ireland, Wales and France in interested in securing Venter’s services, but it is believed English club, the Worcester Warriors, are leading the race to sign the 26-year-old.
If Venter ends up joining Worcester, he will play under his current coach at the Cheetahs, Rory Duncan – who will take over the coaching reins at the English club at the start of next season.
Venter has played seven Tests for the Springboks since making his debut against England in 2016.
Alan Solomons is the Warriors’ director of rugby, while South African players Francois Hougaard, Gerrit-Jan van Velze, Wynand Olivier, Dewald Potgieter and Nick Schonert are also on their payroll.
