England flanker Sam Underhill has named his all-time Test lineup, which includes just one Springbok and four Englishmen.
Selecting his best of the best for Ruck.co.uk, Underhill’s dream team includes six World Cup winners and multiple former World Player of the Year winners.
A 2007 World Cup champion and 109-Test cap Bok, Jean de Villiers lines up in midfield with All Blacks icon Conrad Smith.
Commenting on De Villiers’ inclusion, Underhill said: “De Villiers is deceptively quick, has superb handling skills and has an uncanny knack for intercept tries.”
Former Ireland and British & Irish Lions skipper Paul O’Connell and ex-England captain Martin Johnson slot into the second row, with legendary Kiwis Richie McCaw and Jerry Collins packing down in the loose trio with Englishman Lawrence Dallaglio.
Englishman Matt Perry, Welshman Shane Williams and Kiwi Jonah Lomu are set to demolish defences as an explosive back three, with England flyhalf supremo Jonny Wilkinson combining with Welshman Gareth Edwards at halfback, while Welshmen Adam Jones and Gethin Jenkins scrum down either side of Irishman Keith Wood in the front row.
