Obi off to Bulls

Luther Obi is the latest Kings player to be confirmed as a Vodacom Bulls recruit, with the winger set to link up with the squad on Wednesday.

Former Kings prop Lizo Gqoboka has already settled in with the Bulls squad currently preparing for Vodacom Super Rugby, while negotiations with three other Kings players, Sylvian Mahuza, Thembelani Bholi and Tim Agaba, are ongoing.

Bulls high performance manager Xander Janse van Rensburg said there is great excitement to have Gqoboka and Obi in the squad.

‘They are highly rated all round and we have been trying to get them to Pretoria for a while now. We are pretty pleased with the fact that they have joined the Bulls family and are keen to see their contributions to the squad.’

Negotiations are also continuing with Francois Hougaard, who has committed himself to the Blitzboks, but could still feature for the Bulls when his schedule allows.

Francois Brummer is on loan from the Pumas and could add to his solitary Bulls cap won in 2010.
