Alun Wyn Jones may beg to differ but SARugbymag.co.za followers have decided that referee Angus Gardner had a decent outing in the clash between the Springboks and Wales on Saturday.
In a poll run after Gardner blew for full time at Free State Stadium, 27% voted that the Australian had called proceedings down the middle for both teams in the second of three Tests between them in South Africa.
Wales, though, conceded a yellow card in their first win over the Boks in the Republic, with Jones controversially sent to the naughty chair for 10 minutes just moments after coming from the bench in the second half for “cynically using his hands in a ruck”.
“I haven’t touched it!” Jones could be heard exclaiming, but Gardner was satisfied with his decision after consulting with his touch judge.
