The Vodacom Bulls are reportedly concerned over the status of Sbu Nkosi as the Springbok wing has been missing from training for weeks.
According to a Netwerk24 report, Nkosi has not turned up for any team activities at the Vodacom Bulls since 14 November and efforts to contact him have been in vain.
The situation has gone so far that there are concerns over Nkosi’s safety. His next of kin have reportedly not heard from him either and he has been reported missing to the police.
The 26-year-old joined the Vodacom Bulls from the Sharks in September and, after returning to form on the field, was recalled to the Springboks for the end of year tour of Europe.
While a rib injury suffered in a match against the Sharks on 30 October prevented him from immediately flying out with the Bok squad, the plan was for him to later travel to Europe for the latter stage of the tour.
Nkosi has not been named in either of the Vodacom Bulls’ matchday-23’s to face Welsh sides Ospreys and Cardiff, with no reason given for his absence.
Vodacom Bulls director of rugby Jake White refused to answer questions around Nkosi during Friday’s team announcement press conference with the media, but said a statement would be issued soon.
“The less I say at this stage, the better,” said White.
