Ox Nche says the Sharks will have to “man up” to stop the high-flying Stormers when the teams meet at Kings Park on Saturday.
While the Sharks were able to come away from Ellis Park with a 47-37 win over the Lions, the Stormers provided a stunning result as they brought the Bulls’ winning run at Loftus Versfeld to an end.
On Saturday, the Sharks will host the Stormers and Nche said they have taken note of what the Cape team did to the Bulls.
“One would have expected the Bulls to come out and win that game. It was a home fixture after all,” said the Springbok and Sharks loosehead.
“We were shocked to see them trailing 18-0, but that was then, so it’s going to be a good challenge for us.
“The Stormers will be on a high after their performance at Loftus and they’re going to come here with big confidence.
“We have to man up and be at our best on Saturday.”
The Sharks will have their own particular threats as outside backs Aphelele Fassi, Sbu Nkosi and Makazole Mapimpi were on fire against the Lions, with Mapimpi grabbing a hat-trick of tries.
“We have some really special backs, along with one of the best 12s in the world,” Nche added.
“We have our wings, we have Lukhanyo Am along with a very good flyhalf. We also have Aphelele Fassi at fullback with our excellent wings.
“They’re amazing and it’s good that we get the ball to them.”
