Nemani Nadolo won his battle against JP Pietersen in Christchurch but it will be small consolation for the losing Crusaders, writes MARK KEOHANE.
The hosts enjoyed the greater possession and attacking opportunities, courtesy of their one-man advantage after Jean Deysel was red-carded in the 17th minute.
Nadolo broke tackles when in possession and had one significant run midway through the second half. But his inside backs never created enough space for him to threaten the tryline.
Pietersen's effort in the night was reduced to a defensive one and he was as good defensively as the rest of his team.
