Merger saga sees matches postponed

This weekend's French Top 14 matches between Castres and Stade Français, and Montpellier and Racing 92 have been postponed.

This follows Friday's meeting at National Rugby League (LNR) headquarters where the club presidents, representatives of associations, players, staff and unions all discussed the merger between Racing 92 and Stade Français that is set to take place at the end of the season.

The LNR said the dates of the rescheduled fixtures would be announced at another meeting on Monday night.

However, Montpellier are angry with the decision to postpone their match against Racing. They have lodged an appeal against the decision and are demanding that the French Rugby Federation (FFR) intervenes.
