Marais gets Bulls top job

Nollis Marais has been appointed as head coach of the Vodacom Bulls Super Rugby team for the 2016 season.

Bulls president Gert Wessels made the announcement after the team's 48-27 victory over the EP Kings at Loftus on Friday.

Wessels said he is more than satisfied with the appointment of a man who has coached at every level within the union.

'Nollis familiar with our systems, and has built a respectable record and reputation over the past couple of seasons. His knowledge, paired with his vision and innovation, will stand us in good stead for the future.'

Marais, who took charge of the Blue Bulls Currie Cup side following the resignation of Frans Ludeke in June this year, has been given a four-year contract and says it's humbling to coach the Bulls.

'I am a coach that enjoys a challenge and I see this job as a huge challenge, but one that excites me tremendously. I will do everything in my power to ensure the Bulls remain among the pacesetters of world rugby.'

The union confirmed that the remainder of the coaching teams will be announced next week.
