Frans Ludeke has resigned as Vodacom Bulls coach, with Nollis Marais being appointed Currie Cup coach.
Bulls CEO Barend van Graan made the announcement after the Bulls' loss to the Cheetahs at Loftus. It was their fifth consecutive defeat, which saw them finish ninth on the combined log.
Van Graan said the Bulls would take their time to appoint a new Super Rugby coach.
He added that they would be chatting to Ludeke, who was appointed Bulls coach in December 2007, about his future at the union. There has been speculation that he could become director of rugby.
Marais has been involved with coaching at all levels in the union, starting his coaching career in 2003 as U15 coach of Overkruin High School in Pretoria.
The 48-year-old has progressed through the ranks and in recent years coached Tuks in the Varsity Cup (2010-15), the Blue Bulls U21s (2011-15) and the Blue Bulls Vodacom Cup team (2013-15), winning the Varsity Cup and U21 Provincial Championship on his way to becoming the new Currie Cup coach.
New coaching teams for the Bulls U19 and U21 sides will be announced next week.
