The world champions ended a good season with an 8-5 record after a dramatic 27-26 loss at Twickenham as rookie flyhalf Marcus Smith kicked a 79th-minute penalty to give England the win.

According to 56 percent of those polled on which of the five losses they would most like to reverse, Smith’s kick would have sailed wide in an ideal world.

Surprisingly, only 22 percent of voters would have preferred Jordie Barrett to miss his late penalty goal that consigned the Boks to a 19-17 loss in their milestone 100th Test against the All Blacks.

The successive losses against the Wallabies were next on the list while the series-opening defeat against the British & Irish Lions came in fifth with only four percent of the vote.
