The new-look edition of SA Rugby magazine is out now with fresh content, including the details of Springbok talisman Cheslin Kolbe’s lucrative move to Toulon.
The October edition of the magazine not only has a fresh design but also a particular focus on Kolbe’s expensive transfer from Toulouse to their Top 14 rivals – a move that was more layered than it first appears.
This issue also takes the form of a review of the 101-Test rivalry between the two nations and how the Springboks have demonstrated that, when sticking to their strengths, they have the beating of New Zealand. This was recently demonstrated in the second Test between the two teams on the Gold Coast, where the Springboks claimed a thrilling 31-29 win.
There’s also a look back at three of the best Springbok performances against the All Blacks since the game turned professional, including the memorable victory in Wellington in 2018. Get your copy of the magazine to cast a vote on which performance deserves to be top of the rankings.
A new regular feature starting with this edition is the Great Springbok Quiz, which will put your knowledge of the history between the Springboks and All Blacks to the test.
Another new addition is Coaches Corner, which offers coaches helpful drills and tips to develop the future stars of the game.
Our Young Player feature casts the spotlight on a talented prodigy – the son of a former Springbok – who is said to have the potential to be “South Africa’s next Handre Pollard”.
Finally, we scrutinise Aphelele Fassi’s Springbok future after his highly successful Test debut, as well as look at how Mzwandile Stick has gone from strength to strength as an integral member of the Springboks’ coaching staff.
