Stormers captain Jean de Villiers will be available for Saturday's clash against the Lions at Newlands, but Schalk Burger is yet to receive the green light.
De Villiers missed the Stormers' last match against the Waratahs due to a knee injury. After a two-week break (the Stormers had a bye in round nine), Stormers coach Allister Coetzee is confident that De Villiers will feature this coming weekend at Newlands.
Less is certain about Burger. The Springbok flanker has been sidelined with a quad injury for the past four weeks, and will face a fitness test on Tuesday to determine his availability for the game against the Lions.
It is also hoped that winger Cheslin Kolbe will feature in Saturday's game. Coetzee said that prop Pat Cilliers and lock Jurie van Vuuren are in line for selection having recovered from injuries.
The bad news is that hookers Scarra Ntubeni and Tiaan Liebenberg, as well as wing Kobus van Wyk are still battling injuries. Locks Rynhardt Elstadt and De Kock Steenkamp will not feature again in this year's tournament.
Bok lock Eben Etzebeth, who hasn't played this season due to a foot injury sustained in a Test match against France last November, is only expected to return in the middle of May.
