The Jaguares thrashed the Sunwolves 52-10 in Buenos Aires to ensure they will finish second on the Vodacom Super Rugby table.

The victory makes the Jaguares hosts of a quarter-final, and potentially a semi-final too, for the first time in their history.

The Sunwolves, meanwhile, will finish as the competition’s wooden-spoonists for the third time in four seasons, bringing the curtain down on a disappointing season after winning just two of their 16 games.

For the Sunwolves two of their most consistent performers, Gerhard van den Heever and Semisi Masirewa, went over for tries.
