England have been demoted to fourth place, while Ireland rose to third in the World Rugby rankings following this past weekend’s Six Nations results.
The Springboks and All Blacks are still comfortably the top-two ranked sides in the world, despite their respective indifferent sets of results in the 2021 season.
Below them, though, there is quite a bit of movement, particularly among the Six Nations teams.
In the wake of their 20-17 loss to Scotland at Murrayfield, England have slipped to fourth in the rankings.
That result, coupled with Ireland’s 29-7 hammering of Wales – their ninth consecutive win – have elevated the Irish into third position in the rankings.
France remain in fifth place, but Scotland’s first back-to-back Calcutta Cup triumphs since 1984 have had them climbing to sixth spot, above Australia who are now seventh.
The eighth-placed Wales’ ranking is unchanged.
