SARugbymag.co.za followers have decided that veteran Pumas boss Jimmy Stonehouse is their standout South African coach of 2022.
In a poll run after the SA Rugby Coach of the Year nominees were announced on Wednesday, one of them being Stonehouse, 51% voted that the long-time Pumas mentor deserved to be crowned the best in the country.
A former champion bodybuilder, the 58-year-old from Krugerdorp led the Mpumalanga outfit to a maiden Currie Cup title in June 2022.

John Dobson, after leading the DHL Stormers to a victorious 2021-22 Vodacom United Rugby Championship campaign, is one of the frontrunners to win SA Rugby’s top award, but his 44% of the votes from those polled wasn’t enough to trump Stonehouse.
Also, only a shocking 5% voted that the Springboks’ Jacques Nienaber earned the right to be regarded as the premier tactician in the Republic.
