Faf de Klerk will start at scrumhalf in one of three changes to the Lions XV for their match against the Force in Perth on Saturday.
Ross Cronjé, the Lions' first-choice scrumhalf, is being rested, with Dillon Smit on the bench.
In the only other change to the backline, Sylvian Mahuza will start on the right wing in place of Madosh Tambwe, who is with the Junior Boks.
In the pack, Kwagga Smith replaces the injured Jaco Kriel at openside flank.
