Owen Farrell will captain England from flyhalf in their World Cup quarter-final against the Wallabies in Oita on Saturday.

Farrell has played at inside centre in the tournament, with George Ford wearing the No 10 jersey to this point. However, coach Eddie Jones has opted to start with his captain at flyhalf and leave Ford on the bench for Saturday’s clash.

Instead, Manu Tuilagi has shifted from outside to inside centre, with Henry Slade starting at No 13.

Wing Jonny May will earn his 50th cap in a back three with fullback Elliot Daly and right wing Anthony Watson.

England have been boosted by the return to full fitness of both Vunipola brothers. Billy has shrugged off the ankle injury he picked up against Argentina, while Mako makes his first start of the tournament.

Courtney Lawes is the preferred lock partner to Maro Itoje, with  George Kruis dropping to the bench.
