Hosts King Edward VII School finished in style with a massive victory while St Stithians Boys’ College were embarrassed at home by St Andrew’s as the final day of the Easter school festivals concluded on Monday.
KES smashed Eldoraigne 33-7 in Johannesburg, with Hudson Park railroading Trinityhouse 61-3, while Queen’s College hammered Durbanville 41-11.
At St Stithians, the hosts were on the wrong side of a 50-7 mauling, while Maritizburg College defeated Grey High 36-27 as Wynberg Boys’ High blanked Clifton 48-0.
In Durban, Kearsney slumped to a 26-6 defeat in front of a partisan crowd as Pretoria Boys’ High and Selborne College ended triumphant, seeing off the challenge of Marlow Landbou and Westville Boys’ High, respectively.
At St John’s, the home team remained winless after being beaten 17-5 by Noordheuwel, as Welkom Gimnasium just about trumped Graeme College 26-24.
In Rustenburg, Bersig Akademie edged Randburg 24-22 in the showpiece encounter of the two-day festival, while Hugenote Springs registered a convincing 24-0 victory over Dinamika.
