The Springboks received an early Christmas present with the news that World Cup-winning lock RG Snyman is on track to make his return from injury in the new year.
Having missed out on the end-of-year tour to Europe following a setback in his rehab, Snyman appears ready to make his long-awaited comeback early in 2023.

This is according to the latest update from Munster, where Snyman has plied his trade since late 2019.
Successive cruciate ligament injuries, together with burns from a firepit accident, have limited Snyman to just four games for Munster in two years. He is yet to play for the Springboks since the 2019 World Cup.
Speaking ahead of the Vodacom United Rugby Championship clash with Leinster, Munster attack coach Mike Prendergast provided a positive update on the 27-year-old.
“Things are positive; that’s kind of the overall message that we’ve been getting,” said Prendergast.
“We’re all excited that he will be back into the new year because bringing a world-class player like that can do a lot to your game. Overall, things are moving forward, which is great and positive.”
Snyman remains contracted to Munster until 2024.
