Springbok flank Pieter-Steph du Toit suffered defeat in his first game back from injury when his club Verblitz were beaten by 42 points in the Japanese Top League this past weekend.
Du Toit underwent surgery after suffering a serious shoulder injury in the second Test against the British & Irish Lions at the end of July.
It was confirmed in September that he would depart Western Province and the Stormers after signing a lucrative deal to join Verblitz.
This past Sunday, the 29-year-old marked his return to action with a good performance after being named to start at flank for his club, who eventually went on to lose 50-8 to Suntory Sungoliath.
On Saturday, the Shining Arcs, featuring former Wallaby fullback Israel Folau, slumped to a 19-9 defeat by the Kubota Spears.
