Cameron Wright will make his first start for the Sharks in their Currie Cup match against Griquas Kimberley on Saturday.
Wright, a product of Hilton College in the KZN midlands, will get a chance to stake his claim in the No 9 jersey following injuries to Conrad Hoffmann and Stefan Ungerer.
Add to this the loss of Super Rugby regular Cobus Reinach to the Springboks, and new coach Brad Macleod-Henderson has a scrumhalf dilemma on his hands.
Wright, a product of the Sharks Academy, will be tasked with providing quick ball for the Sharks' exciting young backline. Fred Zeilinga will start at flyhalf, with Lionel Cronjé providing cover from the bench.
Up front, Etienne Oosthuizen has shifted to blindside flank in a bid to bulk up the Sharks pack. Lourens Adriaanse will start at tighthead, while England international Matt Stevens will make his Sharks debut from the bench.
The men from Durban suffered a suprising 32-30 loss in their opening fixture against Griquas at Kings Park last season and will be well aware of the threat posed by Hawies Fourie's charges.
