Springbok centre Damian de Allende is set to make his first appearance in the Vodacom United Rugby Championship as a substitute in Saturday night’s match between Munster and Ospreys.
De Allende and British & Irish Lions scrumhalf Conor Murray have been named among the replacements as Munster travel to Ospreys in Round 5 of the URC.
The pair are in line for their first appearances of the season having been involved for the Springboks and British & Irish Lions, respectively.
The Ospreys, meanwhile, escaped from Treviso with a narrow victory over Benetton last weekend and will now be aiming to reel in one of the competition’s pacesetters.
They will have to do so without the services of five players who have joined up with Wales for the Autumn Nations series, including Alun Wyn Jones and Gareth Anscombe.
Munster will head to Wales with their tails up after a late 20-18 win over Connacht maintained their 100 % winning start to the season.
Beaten finalists last term, Munster have triumphed in their past 11 matches over the Ospreys in all competitions since defeat in Cork in February 2016.
The Ospreys survived a Benetton fightback to claim a third victory in four matches, but have won only twice in eight meetings against Irish provinces.
They have also beaten an Irish opponent just once at the Swansea.com Stadium since April 2018 while Munster have prevailed on their past five visits.
