As we wait for the 2022 Rugby Championship to kick off with the 102nd Test between the Springboks and All Blacks, take a look back at when Morne Steyn set a new individual record in Durban in 2009.

Steyn scored all 31 points as the Springboks overpowered the All Blacks in a 31-19 victory for their second successive win over New Zealand.

Steyn’s 31 points set a new individual record in a Tri-Nations match, breaking Andrew Mehrtens’ previous mark of 29 for the All Blacks against Australia at Eden Park in 1999 as well as the most points scored by an individual in a game against the All Blacks.
